Zheng Yang
Violin
Zheng Yang was born in China and moved to Hong Kong in 2009 to study violin under Michael Ma and chamber music under Ivan Chan. In 2017 he received his Master of Music degree with distinction from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA). During his studies he won the HKAPA Academy Concerto Competition on two occasions and was the concertmaster of the HKAPA Academy Symphony Orchestra. Zheng Yang has participated in masterclasses by Sylvia Rosenberg, Donald Weilerstein, Earl Carlyss, Günter Pichler, Gerhard Schulz, James Dunham, Ning Feng, Cho-Liang Lin, Leonidas Kavakos and Renaud Capuçon. He has performed in concerts at the Hong Kong Arts Festival and in 2011 and 2012 he performed with The Cleveland Orchestra at the Kent Blossom Music Festival in the USA. Zheng Yang is a devoted chamber musician and has given many performances as leader of the Gloucester String Quartet since 2013. These include a collaboration with the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble in 2016, a performance at the Tongyeong International Music Festival and a performance in London to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR. In 2015 the Gloucester Quartet won the Schoenfeld International String Competition and performed on tour in the UK. The quartet also received a full scholarship to participate at the McGill International String Quartet Academy in Montreal and at the prestigious Aspen Music Festival in Colorado. In 2018 he participated in a recording project of the chamber version of Mahler’s Symphony No.1. Zheng Yang is currently teaching violin at the Junior Department of the HKAPA. He became a member of City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong in 2018. He is also a founding member of the Bauhinia Trio and a freelance member of the Hong Kong Philharmonic and Shenzhen Symphony Orchestras.

鄭陽生於中國，2009年移居到香港。他於香港演藝學院修習小提琴，受教於馬忠為門下，以優異成績考取碩士學位。在學期間兩度在學院的協奏曲比賽勝出，並擔任香港演藝學院管弦樂團的首席和「告士打道弦樂四重奏」的第一小提琴手。鄭陽曾參加多個大師班，接受羅森伯格、維勒斯坦、卡利斯、畢希勒、舒茲、鄧南、寧峰、林昭亮、卡華高斯、卡普森等世界知名小提琴大師的指導。鄭陽曾在香港藝術節表演，亦於2011和2012年於美國肯特州立大學的蓓蕾音樂節中與克利夫蘭交響樂團同台演出。他熱愛室樂，自2013年起一直擔任「告士打道弦樂四重奏」的領奏。該四重奏在勛菲爾德第一屆國際弦樂比賽中奪得冠軍，於2015年巡迴英國表演；2016年又與香港創樂團聯手，在韓國的統營國際音樂節獻藝。四重奏的其他國際活動包括參與加拿大蒙特里爾的麥基爾國際弦樂四重奏夏令營，以及獲全費獎學金到美國科羅拉多州參加阿斯本音樂夏令營。2017年，四重奏應香港特區政府邀請，於倫敦舉行的慶祝回歸廿周年音樂會系列中演出。鄭陽曾於2018年參與馬勒第一號交響曲的室樂版本錄音製作。他現為香港演藝學院初級音樂課程小提琴導師。鄭陽 2018年加入香港城市室樂團，亦是Bauhinia 三重奏創團成員及香港管弦樂團與深圳交響樂團的自由身樂手。
