Violet Feng, violinViolet Fung, violin

Violet Fung began her violin studies at the age of five under Professor Wang Zhen-shan. Her other violin mentors include Professor Tong Wei-Dong of the China Central Conservatory of Music, Professor Wei Wei of the Guangzhou Xinghai Conservatory of Music and Professor Marty Leslie of Louisiana State University School of Music. She has also studied with Qian Zhou, Simon Fischer, Lucie Robert and Huang Bin. In 2007 she received the Y.S. Liu Foundation Scholarship to pursue a Masters Degree in Violin Performance at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts under the tutelage of Michael Ma and Benedict Cruft. While studying at the academy she was selected to take part in masterclasses and performances by the American Quartet, Penderecki String Quartet and the Chilingirian Quartet. In 2008 Violet Fung toured to Japan, Taiwan and China as a member of the Asian Youth Orchestra and in 2011 she performed at the Texas Music Festival with the National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands and the Ensemble Academy on a full scholarship. She has been a member of the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong since 2011.
