Tim Summers, horn
Tim Summers comes from London. He learnt the horn and viola from an early age and studied horn under Adrian Leaper at the Royal College of Music. As a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain he worked under conductors Norman René del Mar and Simon Rattle and performed at the BBC Proms. He holds an MA and PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, where he was also an Instrumental Award Holder and the winner of the Newton Prize. At Cambridge University he was Principal Horn of the Cambridge University Chamber Orchestra where he performed under numerous international conductors and soloists including Sir Neville Marriner and Barry Tuckwell. Tim Summers moved to Hong Kong in 2006 and has performed quite often with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Macao Orchestra. He became tutti horn of City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong in 2015.
