Matthew Leung graduated from the Music Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2007 and completed his Masters Degree in violin performance at the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London in 2008. At the RCM he was granted the Joan Weller Award and studied the violin under Yossi Zivoni. At the University, he was awarded the Yamaha Music Scholarship, the Class Scholarship of Chung Chi College and was placed on the Dean’s List of the Faculty of Arts in 2006. He has also won numerous prizes at the Hong Kong Schools Music and Speech Festival Competitions including First Prize in the violin sonata class Matthew began his violin studies in Hong Kong with Wong Wai-ming and served as concertmaster of the Chinese University Orchestra. He holds the DipABRSM, LTCL and FTCL Diplomas in violin performance, as well as the ATCL Diploma in piano performance. Matthew joined the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong in 2009.
