Grace Guo, principal viola
Grace Guo studied violin with Valery Oistrakh and viola with Paul De Clerck and Vladimir Mendelssohn. She graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and The Hague with two masters of music degrees. At the later she was awarded the Dutch distinction in musicianship. In 2003 she won the first prize both for solo viola and string quartet from The International Competition of Masterclass in Portogrado, Italy. Grace performed for more than ten years as a member of the Residence Orchestra of The Hague where she worked with many world renowned conductors including Neeme Jarvi and Jaap van Zweden. She also performed as a freelance guest player for the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and has appeared as violist in leading chamber orchestras at music festivals in Sweden, the USA and France. Grace Guo joined the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong in 2015 as acting Principal Violist.
