Christian Goldsmith Christian Goldsmith, trombone 

American trombonist Christian Goldsmith is a player of versatility and range. His background includes orchestral playing, musical theatre, big band, marching band, concert band and jazz. A native of Southern California he attended the prestigious Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and completed his undergraduate and post-graduate studies at the University of Southern California with Professor Terry Cravens. His awards include winner of the USC Concerto Competition, the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts Instrumental Competition and the Robert Marsteller Memorial Scholarship. Christian Goldsmith first came to Asia in 2005 to perform at Pacific Music Festival in Japan under the tuition of players from The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. Shortly afterwards he was appointed Principal Trombone of the Macao Orchestra where he worked for nine years. He has also performed with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra. In China he has served on the jury for the Qingdao Symphony Orchestra and has appeared on CCTV I Am a Singer broadcast nationally across China. In 2016 he became a core player with City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong.
