aspar Billington, trumpet
Caspar Billington was born in London and began his musical training on the trumpet at the age of eight while studying at the prestigious Westminster Cathedral Choir School. In 1998 he was accepted into the Royal Northern College of Music to study under the tutelage of John Miller (Principal Trumpet of the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble) and Martin Winter (Co-Principal Trumpet of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra) and received his Masters in Music Performance in 2003. In the UK he gained extensive professional experience performing with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and the Halle Orchestra and as a member of the Trelights Brass Quintet. From 2003 to 2011 Caspar was a member of the Macao Orchestra. He also performed with the orchestra as soloist in Vivaldi's Concerto for Two Trumpets and as a member of the Macao Brass Quintet. Now based in Hong Kong, Caspar is in demand as a brass tutor and performs regularly with the major professional ensembles in the region including the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra and the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong.
