An active figure in Hong Kong’s Arts community for many years, Jonathan Douglas is best known in Hong Kong as the long-standing host of RTHK Radio 4’s Morning Call and other arts and classical music programmes. His book Noteworthy, a compilation of his interviews with major arts personalities, was published to mark Radio 4’s thirtieth anniversary. He has appeared frequently as emcee for numerous Radio 4 events including the annual Christmas Concert in the Park, and has been invited to present or perform in programmes for LCSD, the Hong Kong Arts Festival, the British Council and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. For City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong he has narrated Howard Blake’s The Snowman on two occasions in 2006 and 2008. As a self-taught pianist and singer/song-writer he regularly performs his own music, often combining it with theatre. As an actor he has performed in local productions of Shakespeare, Chekhov, Pinter and Beckett. In 2008 Jonathan Douglas was awarded the MBE for Services to British Arts in Hong Hong. He has just completed a Masters in Acting at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London.
