Taiwanese conductor Chang Yin-fang was appointed Resident Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra in Taiwan in 2015 and previously held the post of Assistant Conductor from 2006 to 2015. In 2012 she stepped in at short notice to deputize for Gennady Rozhdestvensky to conduct Shostakovich's Symphony No.8 at the Kaohsiung Spring Arts Festival to great acclaim. In the same year she made her debut with the Taipei Chinese Orchestra conducting world premieres of seven contemporary works by Chou Wen-chung which led to a nomination for the Taishin Arts Award in Performing Arts. In 2017 she was invited to conduct the Concert of the Presidential Office at the Pingtung Performing Arts Centre. Since 2012 Chang Yin-fang has been the resident conductor of the NSO Orchestra Academy, serving as both artistic planner and mentor for the training programme.
